Then either use the correct file type or repair the damage. Is there more to the problem than that?

What version of adobe reader are you using now! Is reader itself not opening or reader could not able to open the file that you want to open... these are two different issues. However, you cant try the same file on another computer.

What is the file extension? Did you create the file or was it sent/downloaded? It may have been damaged and you should try getting the file again. If it still does not open, try another PC and see if it works. It may be your version of Adobe Reader that is corrupt.

    1) Reinstall Adobe Reader

    Simple trouble shooting steps.

If you have access to another PC, can it be opened there. If it can, in this case your program may be corrupt. Uninstall and the reinstall the latest version.

If it cannot be opened on another PC then the file may be damaged. Can you open it with another program like notetab++.

Then try saving the file again.

If it still will not open, then try a PDF repair utility
