    Did you try to use open with on a shortcut! It sounds like if you accidently associated .lnk files to adobe acrobat. Right-click to open properties and in General tab, here you click Change and you can change the executable program name with .lnk files.(guessing Windows as OS).

    Click start then go to default programs.
    Then look under associate file type or protocol and make sue that it points to the correct program.
