Hi,

First I'll describe my setup:

Server 1:
Windows server 2003
IIS 6
PHP 5.4.33
phpMyAdmin 4.2.9
Server 2:
Ubuntu Server 14.04.1
MySql 5.5.38
PHP 5.5.9
I installed phpMyAdmin on my Windows server and configured it with two servers login. I can login to MySQL on my Windows Server and edit databases without any problem. But when I try to login to the Linux's MySQL, I get the error message : "#2002 Cannot log in to the MySQL server".
I tried to login with root and root@localhost but none of it work.
I searched through phpMyAdmin's config and MySql's config too but can't find what's wrong.
I'm out of ideas right now and some help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Found the answer:

Not only does the MySql need to be configured to listen on all IPs but it also needs a user configured to be able to login from all IPs or the IP of the computer it uses to connect.

    Try editing phpmyadmin/config.inc.php as: $cfg['Servers'][$i]['host']='127.0.0.1';
Please care about space and special symbols etc.
