I'm 37 and looking to change career. JustIT offers a network support training package that will offer a placement and job guarantee. Are the following good qualifications to have to start out CompTIA A+ 1 & 2, Microsoft Windows 7 (MCTS), Microsoft Server 2008 (MCTS), and Cisco CCNA. Wages start at 18-22k apparently and also can you progress in this area and years down the line achieve 50k plus?

I’d be careful with anyone “guaranteeing” job placement. The best thing to do is not focus on the outcome (i.e. placement and money) as much as you focus on the program’s reputation and the content you need to learn. You can end up making $500,000+ per year in IT if you want to. Your determination and sticktuitiveness are the limiting factors.

As you mentioned these certifications, they are all globally recognized & also a different fields in IT/ Computer industry. As you are from network support, it is better to go for cisco-ccna for better prospectus. Next depends on your decision.

Thanks Subhendu, the course centre will offer all these courses in a tailor made program. Im a science graduate that been in management for 7 years. I want to move into IT and came across this course that doesn't focus heavily on programming which i don't want. I want to focus on user interfaces instead. Is this a good starting point to develop a career and get an entry level job which will have prospects as I continue training. The IT field I have no idea about and want to know if a job with these qualifications will apparently get me a job in london between 18-25k can I then with experience and further courses in this discipline then lead to roles at 40k plus plus.

As you mentioned tailor made program, you can go for it. They are all differences in respect of their field. While Comptia a+ is based on pc/hardware related, MCTS is based on server admin/ configuration/ deployment on both (Windows 7 is as client), and cisco ccna mainly aims for  router/ networking and so on. Of course you can gather variant types of knowledge in IT and they all are globally recognized and better carrier prospectus in their respected fields. It is better to navigate to their related web sites and understand what will you gain before join.
