5.1 Speaker not working

i have a trust vigor 5.1 and a MSI 970 gaming  pro carbon and it supports 5.1 sorround sound but i havent got it to work ive tried everything!! I uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them, I played around with the realtek audio manager.. and more... Windows says its a 5.1 speaker and when i click test on the sound setting all speakers make noise.. but when i get back to playing music its just the 2 left and right speakers making sound.... can somone help me???

btw its not the app i play music on ive tried groove muic. amazon music and youtube but just left and right speak

You can try this if you haven’t already.

Enter sound in the bar near the start button, then type sound and then select sound settings. In the new window on the right, select sound control panel. When the new window opens, select your speakers from the audio list. When highlighted, select configure and in the drop down menu select the 5.1 option.

    What version of Windows OS is there? Is it Windows10/ 8.1/ 7 ? Is that OS is updated with latest updates (if any) ? Is the speaker's cord/ wire inserted correctly?

    It is Windows 10 PRO and yes everything i connected properly

    It may be possible the audio file you are playing is not a 5.1... They same thing happens with home theater systems on occasion. You go to watch an old movie from the 70's, the audio is not in a 5.1 format. Depending on the broadcast they may simulate that audio format, other wise it's just standard stereo format.
