No mention of decimal exponents? Where? What are you looking at? What are you working with?

How to write in decimal notation a number like 10E9.9 or 1.23x10E9.9 ?

    Write them as 7943282347.2429 and 9770237287.108767 .

I don't understand the reply. 10E9 is 1+9 zero and 10E10 is 1+10 zero before the decimal. But how to calculate an exponent E9.9 knowing that calculators only accept integers, not decimal (so 9 or 10). And how do you transform 1.23x10E9.9 in 794... or 977.... as listed above ? thank you.

If you need to use a calculator, use one with advanced or scientific functions. An exponent value of (9.9) can be written using only integers as (99/10). Enter an exponent as a fractional expression.

Excellent ! Now I understand you result. thanks.

PS. There is a common mistake on calculators for scientific functions in using the "Exp" key instead of "10^x".
