Virtual activity causes real embarrassment

WAshford Profile: WAshford

Police in Sweden were red-faced when they stormed a house after passers-by reported a murder in progress, only to find that the home owners were playing a boxing game on their Xbox Kinect.

Stockholm resident Robert Johansson (not related to Scarlett, as far as Downtime is aware) said: “It was pretty embarrasing when the police cme in and asked who we were attacking.”

Red faces aside, it does beg the question as to why so much of what people do in cyberspace tends to be violent?

The real question, however, is whether violence in the virtual world reduces or increases the desire to be violent in the physical world?
