Ofcom’s Olympian largess

ComputerWeeklyStaff Profile: ComputerWeeklyStaff

Let’s see now: the government faces a £1.847tr budget black hole; it is unlikely to get another £22bn-odd from selling off the 4G airwaves; there is huge demand for 2.6GHz frequencies that 3D wireless TV cameras can use during the London Olympics, and Ofcom proposes going to give away those very same frequencies to broadcasters, albeit just for most of 2012.
Downtime applauds this wonderful act of generosity on the British public’s behalf. He is sure chancellor of the exchequer George Osborne is equally anxious to ensure that the London Olympics are a social, if not financial success.
