User generated content is all very well, but as one – no two married couples in the US found out, digital fingerprints, once out there, can come back to haunt you.

Cleveland woman Lynn France typed into the Facebook search the name of the woman with whom she suspected her husband was having an affair, and got more than she bargained for.

Yes, there were certainly photographs of the woman with Lynn’s husband, but to make matter worse, they were wedding photographs. Her husband was not only having an affair, he had married another woman.

In the age of Facebook and Twitter, the notion of privacy, even when it comes to affairs, is fast becoming obsolete. Thanks to digital fingerprints, marital indiscretions are much easier to track and prove, especially when photographic evidence is posted online.
