Downtime happened to meet a CIO in a bar recently (no surprises there, then) and the conversation turned inevitably to how things were going.

“We’re hiring, actually,” he said. “You could have fooled me, judging from how thin our recruitment ad salesman is looking,” Downtime replied.

“Ah, that’s because we’re doing all our headhunting on LinkedIn. Saves us at least 15% of he first year’s salary,” he said.

Downtime can’t remember who was the fool who said this social networking craze wasn’t for corporates.

I know most companies google search employees and what usually comes up is their linkedin, facebook, or blogss ofcoarse. People want to know who you are and if they can work with you,. I think linkedin is a better job search tool than any job posting site if you know how to use it.

I know most companies google search employees and what usually comes up is their linkedin, facebook, or blogs. People want to know as much as they can because you really can't tell much by a resume. I think Linkedin is a better job search tool than any job posting site if you know how to use it.
