A British publisher has released an iPhone app which lets commuters read their favourite authors and discover new ones without the fag and cost of acquiring a Sony Reader or an Amazon Kindle.

Ether Books is aiming at the soon-to-be two billion mobile phone users who neither want nor can afford a high-priced paperweight like the Apple iPad.

Now, if Ether Books can just sort out the tiny on-screen type so that we can can actually read the books, they’re onto a winner.
