The eReader, which Sony claim at 168 grams is the world’s lightest, has a 6″ screen and measures 8.9mm thick.

The built in Wi-Fi allows users to browse and download ebooks wirelessly and users can also use this feature to borrow ebooks from public libraries.

The major selling point of this new device, however, has to be the month’s battery life. This would mean no need to pack the charger or worry about foreign plug adapters if you were jetting off on your holidays.

The Reader store is also set to be expand their across European markets, giving a launch date of October 2011 for the UK.

Immediately after it’s launch in the UK, the reader store is expected to offer over 100,000 ebooks and a selection of newspapers and magazines. Further titles will also become available day by day.

The Reader will be avaliable in either red, white or black. PRS-T1 Reader.jpg
