Recession

Each day seems to bring some pretty bad news at the moment. At the weekend it was Lehman Bros and now today it’s the news of big job cuts at technology giant HP. I know the reasons for the job losses are very different, HP is restructuring following a massive acquisition of EDS for a whopping £7.22bn .

However, for HP employees the reasons for redundancy are probably scant consolation, as losing your job is never a nice experience, however big the redundancy payout might be.

I have an awful feeling that we are moving into a deeper recession than many predicted.
