I want to put RPGLE Prototype Defination in one Member(say Mbr1) and then want to use it in other modules using /copy compiler directive. But I am not getting what should be the type of MBR1??? Like RPGLE,CLP,SQLRPGLE. Please Suggest me.

What file and file type is your copybook source code in ?  Check it out using PDM. If you need to change or set they type use option 13 if you cannot do it from the member listing You also need to make sure when you compile your code that you have that library in you LIBL/JOBD depending if you are compiling interactively or submitting it to batch.

you can set the member type to be anything, the /COPY directive does not care.  What matters is that you have properly formatted lines of code for the location you are copying into (D-specs, C-specs, O-specs, etc.)   If you want SEU to syntax check your copy book lines as you enter them, you need to keep the type as RPGLE.

Like BigKat said, type is irrelevant. When the code is pulled in it will validate. We do this a lot in our programs. Here's a sample of how it looks.

     *******************************************
    *PROTOTYPES
    *******************************************
    /COPY QCOPYSRC,PROTOTYPEB
    *******************************************
    * Variables Used in CGI Programs
    *******************************************
    /COPY QCOPYSRC,VARIABLES
    /COPY QCOPYSRC,USEC
    *******************************************

For us, our member type is just plain RPGLE.
