Intel’s Barrett to step down

Craig Barrett will relinquish his day-to-day management activities at Intel in May, the chip giant said today on its web site.

Barrett’s spent 35 years at Intel. Independent director Jane Shaw will step in as non-executive chairman beginning in May.

VARs know that Intel and Microsoft are the two tech forces that powered the personal computer reveolution. One wag famously referred to them as the Siamese twins of the PC monopoly. So VARs always have their eyes on what’s moving and shaking among executives there.
