Just looking at RIMs site and noticed a nice pretty tablet from RIM.

I had some thoughts on this a while ago if this could save RIM or not. You can read the [A href="http://planetlotus.org/74df9c"]posting here[/A]

@Chirs - I think it can help add value to the Blackberry Development Efforts. For once RIM is not waiting to get out there with something new and popular. I will still admit the phones are at least 2 years behind anything Apple or Google are offering (OS wise) but the build quality or their phones is awesome (minus the track ball, what a poor choice.) If you have field techs that are on the road or sales people on the road who have laptops now. Some of those laptops are upwards of $2000. Then you take into consideration that there would be no VPN needed. All the traffic would come via the BES to the back end, and if you build BB apps now, then you can just push more data to a larger screen, and wham bam, there is a clear case for the Playbook. I do hate the name. Should have come up with something more business savvy. What does it sound like you are going to do all day? PLAY? Come on RIM. You know your customer base is BUSINESS why call it the PLAYBOOK? Here are a few better names: Rass-a-ma-taz-berry BlackberryXL Frankenberry Workberry Workpad iWorkPadLite iPadding-ton-berry Thanks for the position Chris!

  • Blackberry Playbook - you got the name all wrong! - Lotus Alive: Lotus Administration for Everyone
[...] So in my post yeaterday I shared with you the new RIM Playbook and then when Chris posted his comments it got me to thinking. They named it all wrong. Why would the CIO who has purchased thousands of Blackberry devices to run his buinsess now go out and spend more money for his user to have a PLAYbook? Something to PLAY on? Come on RIM is this the best you can do? [...]
