The first word transmitted on the Internet, on Oct. 29, 1969, was “lo.” The funny thing is, it was accidental. What word did they intend to type?

The fact that “lo” was the first word transmitted on the Internet makes it seem like they knew what a phenomenally disruptive technology it was going to be. In fact, though, they were trying to type “login.”
