I have learned that you can use a command MGET or MPUT to get or put multiple files at the same time. You can also copy a file location and then paste it after your command for easier and quicker commands.

So drop to a command prompt with CMD and then issue a ftp command like this:

ftp yourhost.com

enter your username and password. Once authenticated you can issue your MGET or MPUT which is simply multiple put or get. Copy the path of the directory you need to get to and type MGET or MPUT and paste the location:

MGET “C:\folder\file*”

This will get all files in the folder c:\folder that start with the file name file. Just put the asterisk as your wildcard. You will be prompted y/n for each file that meets your criteria.
