This has been an issue of mine for a while. I was not able to open other server’s event log files and see the correct event descriptions due to the applications not being installed on my server. So the quick fix is to Export the events from the server as CSV and open them in Excel. This way you get all the text necessary to troubleshoot!
Open up the event viewer and right click on the log you want to export (Like application or system) and choose export events as… Choose CSV as the file type and you can export the events and read them in Excel easily!
