Continually ping a remote host to see when it comes back up.

Working on servers 100′s of miles away from me and sometimes further I do not know when the boxes are back up after a remote reboot. So I drop to the command line and use this command to tell me when the server’s NIC is back up:

ping 10.10.10.1 -t

Simply replace the IP address with the address you want to monitor and hit enter you will see failures until the server is up and then the pings will have replies.
