Find out your serial port information or usb to serial port info.

I connect to serial devices on Windows 7 using a serial to usb cable and putty. To find out what com port it is using i simply open up device manager and expand ports and blamo there it is!

If you are having issues with pasting data into a DOS windows you can try this easy method. Copy your data by highlighting the text and right click and select copy. When you are in the DOS window simply right click to paste it.  Yes it is that easy!
