I think Windows has it, hands down, they have made user friendly, cheap, great quality products for years, I’ve used apple but never owned one, Windows all the way

I agree the era of PC dominance is nearly over, but I wouldn’t count any platform out to be the first to hit that “hot spot” in price/performance. This is a very fluid time in the computing industry and anyone could bring the right mixture together. The fundamental aspects of displays and interaction are evolving faster than we can predict. Exciting times.

You are missing the real paradigm change…from storage in your hand, tablet, desktop, whatever to unlimited storage in the Cloud. When people use Chrome OS what they get is the Google Cloud and Docs usable on a device that costs less than iPad 1 with potentially unlimited capabilities. Coming after that are devices that need no display but can project an image on any handy surface. Goodbye Retina and Gorilla Glass.
