<description>The mixed-virtualization data center _will_ be a reality.... no matter what you're using today (i.e. VMware, Xen, Parallels, Virtual Iron, etc.) you'll also find that you'll have HyperV from Microsoft, as well as a number of virtual appliances -- and who knows what VM technology is inside of those. Heterogeneity will be the norm.

The good news is that there are a host of firms that already manage the provisioning, deployment and management of multi-vendor VM technology, including doing P-V conversions on-the-fly. [A href="http://www.cassatt.com/sltn_virt_control.htm"]Cassatt [/A]is one of them.

I spoke alot about this almost a year ago at [A href="http://fountnhead.blogspot.com/2007/02/sobering-predictions-for-vmware-and.html"]Fountainhead [/A]</description>
