Thinking of software, life and simplicity
Posted by: viip
I’m working a bit from home, thinking actually; thinking of software, life and simplicity… thinking of various means to ideally help improve quality of life, for me, and for others. Perhaps you are doing some related thinking too and have come across various news or terms that may apply to a degree; for example: SaaS (Software as a Service, e.g.) and SOA (Service Oriented Architecture; although 5 years old come September ‘08, this may be worth a revisit)… as further example, Inherent Quality. As more make time for thinking about software, life and simplicity, more will begin to more so evolve software, technology and information so that they are progressively architected with innate positive characteristics that improve speed, quality, value, excellence, simplicity and so on, including service, and including innate positive characteristics that somehow help the growing numbers that increasingly:
- operate by walking the talk with honesty and integrity and solid ethics
- treat others as they would like to be treated
- do as they say, and say as they do.
For the common folk (author included), quality needs to be simple; for that to be, it must ever be and increasingly become—inherent. Making quality progressively more inherent or occurring more inherently automatically results in helping to:
- advance social responsibility, environmental stewardship, and quality of life
- generate greater return and value on investment and innately ensure higher levels of goodness (e.g., quality, value, excellence, compliance, ethics, morals, virtues, safety, productivity, profitability, and simplicity).
Progressive movement in this direction will require individuals and communities around the globe to increasingly make time for thinking about software, life and simplicity; including relative to being of service to others, and relative to increasingly evolving software, technology and information into more so being of service to others. A couple of stories shared at this time that may be of interest are included below.
Integrating CRM, SaaS proves valuable
And … “IT governance, IT risk management and IT compliance are three distinct disciplines that in the past have existed in silos within organizations. Today, many organizations no longer see these activities as individual, one-time projects handled in separate parts of an organization. Many commonalities and interrelationships exist between these three disciplines. Adopting a unified IT governance, risk management and compliance (IT GRC) approach, and managing the associated activities coherently will create efficiencies, provide a holistic view of the IT environment and ensure accountability.” (click here for more on this featured tip)
