Shared prior, watch it again; think of our children’s children, 100 years from now

Open thinking, about balance, and smart Government

Today is perhaps a good day for some open thinking, about balance, and smart Government.

“Balance”, this is a word that can be applied in ways, or from many perspectives. For example, relative to a particular person’s balance within life, or relative to ensuring effective types of balance within roles and responsibilities, within a company, within a country, within an industry, within the global society, and so on, such as through sharing loads between resources and particular types of technology. In many ways “balance” is an important word, and as stated in IQS101, true universal fellowship starts with it.

One way to achieve balance to greater dimensions is to increase transparency, such as through “Open” sharing or initiatives. As stated by Liz Barnett in 2004 within “Applying Open Source Processes In Corporate Development Organizations“, increasing transparency is a good idea.

Firms should increase transparency — the visibility of the project information to people who aren’t team members — to improve coordination and help increase productivity. Increased transparency can also improve the accountability and the performance of individual employees by providing a documented workflow and a basis for feedback. Leading development organizations know that disclosure improves business relationships and will communicate select information about project progress to customers.

Moving forward to “smart” Government, how might balance be further improved, as a result of continual inquiries into quality, value, excellence, simplicity and how transparency may be further increased?

Feel free to positively comment on this, to think about lessons from the heart, and to watch for an upcoming VIIP post. Hoping for a bit of Good Luck, a future one may share some related positive thoughts, insights and wisdom from a VIIP and IQS reader within the National Institute for Smart Government. Perhaps this is a topic for Governments in general and should be tabled at the next summit involving worldwide representation.

What would you say?

Tonight I sit peacefully to write this post. To my right, through the clear glass of the patio doors, is the deck. Beyond it, there rests a still Canadian flag. Beyond the flag are reflections within the water of a calm lake. Above the water is a gentle starlit sky. In the background plays soft SPA music. The dim room is lit only by the monitor and a small keyboard lamp. The question that flows to my fingers is this: if you knew you were going to die and you had one last lecture, what would you say?

Would you mention that: Sarbanes-Oxley is making executives personally responsible for making sure that mistakes and misreporting are no longer tolerable; CIOs are going green to save green; the Nao Project is an ongoing venture dedicated to the development and mass production of an intelligent humanoid robot for the consumer market; Microsoft report warns of data breaches; CIOs are being challenged to take on a social networking leviathan and join Facebook; many need a way to improve collaboration, simplify team infrastructure and make sure everyone’s working from a centralized, single source of truth; business agility is crucial for organizations to effectively respond to growth, competitive threats and regulatory requirements; fault tolerance in a virtual world is an important topic; a bill introduced in the U.S. Senate aims to close loopholes exploited by Internet criminals; Gartner picks the technologies that are likely to have the biggest impact on business in the next 18 to 36 months; RealNetworks Inc. has released a patch for an extremely critical security flaw in RealPlayer that attackers have targeted in recent days; a sniper-sniffing robot is a tactical mobile robot designed to seek out and identify weapons in congested areas; a book called the Power of Believing seeks to unlock doors to your soul that you never knew were there and challenges you to stand up and take charge of your affairs in every aspect of your life; Xerox’s intelligent redaction software would enable users to selectively encrypt different portions of a document for different recipients; a Forrester webcast features a discussion on reducing internal threats; a recent software quality tip provides insight as to who does what in a test center of excellence? Perhaps you would mention the progress of an up and coming organization (e.g. AllYourRetail.Com or ConceptShare.Com). Perhaps you would echo the need for all throughout the world to continually work in a direction that seeks to innately elevate quality, value, excellence and simplicity for all, for every, from any perspective.

The answer that flows to my fingers is this: whatever you might say, it is my hope that your words would help continually make things better throughout the universe.

Continually ignite a brighter future for everyone and all creations. Increasingly beam value-inherent, intrinsic and pervasive into your steps and into the steps of others. Spark interesting knowledge exchanges and discussions (e.g. ITKE and cbc.ca/spark such as with respect to a discussion involving Jamais Cascio and William Gibson on smart environments and the future of the Internet). Innovate the future and start thinking now about perfect vision leap year 2020 and beyond to further extend greater degrees of love and light to all.

Creatively mature an inherent quality mindset; as more discover and contribute, the beauty and quality will be amplified. Call all to join the field and to do it for the generations of today and the future. Triumph! Fight the “good” fight with love and make it worth the price humanity has paid. Play in the big leagues of higher purposes. If you know there is something wrong, right it! Help make the world better for others. Do it for others because it is the right thing to do to try. Thank you for doing so. As more live in the mystery and join the journey, humanity will take giant leaps forward. It’s just a matter of time before we get to shine. From an operating system and larger perspective, may the source be with you; and may your thought balloons (e.g.) help to generate great results for you and others.

Inherent Quality Simplicity will be available November 2007. I hope many choose to read and ponder it. The book is somewhat of a final lecture with words provided by a once quality expert who has become a Vice President and Fellow and will be endeavoring to have quality increasingly occur inherently or be more so inherent. Whatever your labor, wherever upon your journey you find yourself, be peace and be at peace, and share peace with others.
