Manifestations of the computerized society

Software Quality, Inherent Quality, Dr. Dobb's

Looking through a few books of team member Michael Sharkey I came across a piece of history: Dr. Dobb’s Journal of Computer Calisthenics & Orthodontia, Running Light Without Overbyte, Volume One, 1976, People’s Computer Company, A Reference Journal for Users of Home Computers. In it on page 155, I came across Volume 1, Number 6, Page 7, which featured a story about an attorney who built his first computer, an IMSAI. The attorney in his opening paragraph stated that even his life was not un-touched by some of the “manifestations of the computerized society”. Since 1976, Dr. Dobb’s has come a long way and now of course software, technology and information touch virtually everyone. I hope you enjoy IQS; the words below are from the front cover.

For executives, professionals and all who produce, help create, purchase and see that their quality of life is touched, improved or impacted by software, technology and information. The world has been evolving since the beginning of time. As a result quality today is more so inherent. In the centuries of the future this will increasingly be the case. Related discoveries will continue to produce higher and higher levels of value, excellence and simplicity.
