Cutting edge knowledge

As noted in this year’s opening post, in 2008, VIIP posts will center on sharing awareness of the emerging news of IT Pros that in some way has the potential to help continually make the world better for others by 2020 and beyond. In today’s world there are many IT Pros and many related organizations. As prominent as any is IBM. Perhaps among their many contributions to helping to create a better world will be increasingly helping governments with successful strategic and change management.

“Past experience shows that a new team comes in, declares “shock” at the miserable state of affairs they’ve discovered, and launches a new series of initiatives to fix the mess left by his or her predecessors. Continuity is the last thing they want… even if it makes sense!”

You can read the rest of the post related to the above quote here; and you can further consider the potential role of social media in the current or future administration here (excerpt: “The Intelligence Community — which is comprised of 16 agencies across the government such as the CIA, FBI, and NSA — uses a range of social media tools to create communities within the Intelligence Community”). For further related information you may also like to visit this site (excerpt: “The mission of the Center for The Business of Government is to provide cutting edge knowledge to government leaders. The Center is dedicated to stimulating research and facilitating discussion on new approaches to improving the effectiveness of government at all levels in the United States and across the world”).

Strongly believe that a globally cohesive group of IT Pros can change the world simply because successful change management is an inherent character trait of all IT Pros.
