Inherently, quality is the key

Software Quality, Inherent Quality

After years of work a 437 page manuscript emerged and was shared freely with various individuals. The book that resulted, Inherent Quality Simplicity, ideally elevates messages in a concise an interesting manner. It is only 100 pages and can be read easily in a day. Ideally it helps you to see and increasingly ensure to greater dimensions that…

Ron’s book is about the state of mind, attitude and sense of responsibility necessary to make good things happen. By all means, this is more philosophical than a technical text. Leave your technical books on the shelf for a day, and start reading about inherent quality. After the first shock, when you discover this text is nothing like anything you read previously, I hope you will enjoy what you discover and recognize in it. I did. — Mario Vodopivec

Mario’s background includes being a senior software engineer for prominent organizations in the U.S. (San Jose, California) and Canada (Toronto, Ontario). He has authored and been the principal architect for innovative software. He holds a B.Sc. degree from the Faculty of Mathematics, University of Belgrade, Serbia and Montenegro, and a Master’s degree from the School of Computer Science at the University of Waterloo, ON, Canada. When asked whether he had ranked IQS, Mario responded: Yes I did, I gave it “Excellent”.

Leap years with collaboration (Microsoft, Cisco, Gore, and more, you)

Posted by: viip
Software Quality, Inherent Quality, Microsoft, Fun

Peace is value. Joy is quality. The world needs more of both with lots of love and fun included. An increasingly collaborative global society must continually emerge.

Collaboration can help to enable intrinsic and pervasive peace and joy. While there has been a fair amount of collaboration in the past (e.g., P-Cube acquired by Cisco), it is time to deepen, widen and elevate it within the global IT community and relative to all that are and will increasingly be interconnected by software, technology and information.

Start thinking about 2020 and increased collaboration between pros and public, and of the peace and joy that can be driven continually upwards and inwards for the benefit of all.

Never underestimate the power of your customers, their my most valuable designers.—Sean Adams, in third video here.

As a bit more news to go with this post:

Thank you for all you do to help enable leap years before, by and beyond 2020.

Thoughts about 2020, Leap years, and March

Posted by: viip
Software Quality, Inherent Quality

What will it be like in 2020? Will the U.S. be less economically powerful than another part of the world which trails the U.S. today? Will there be more equality across the world? Will India see huge gains as a result of India Vision 2020 or India 2020? Will other places of the world reach the status of a developed country? Will space travel go farther than currently imagined and related travel become safe and affordable to the average person? Will there be an increase in flash floods? What positive outcomes will be related to “Mapping the Global Future: Report of the National Intelligence Council’s 2020 Project”? Will there be widespread use of artificial or real intelligence associated to transportation, green energy sources, and the everyday way of life? What will life be like on February 20, 2020? Will a strong commitment to world peace and global cooperation progressively develop as the world moves towards 2020? Will IT be a strong unified force for good by 2020? Will the world be much more spiritual? Will many of the great technological challenges facing humanity in the 21st century be well understood and will strong action plans be well underway to continual make things better?

What gains will occur in the leap year of 2020, and in the leap years prior including in 2008?

Will March be a huge month for various gains including an awakening of many to their life’s purpose, such as perhaps thanks to Oprah’s special classes (10-week webcast, starting 3/3/08)?

Ideally wonderful changes for humanity really start to begin in 2008 on route to 2020, and beyond. Ideally IT is a major contributor to a brighter future for all. Thank you for all you do.

Will this technology power future software development offices, and technology data and support centers?

“to capture light more effectively”

Bloo Solar is a ultra thin film renewable solar energy company located in West Sacramento, California. Bloo’s products utilize nano structured photovoltaic “bristled” cells to increase the total power output of solar panels, which will reduce the cost of solar energy to that of existing fossil fuel based electricity sources. Bloo’s mission is to provide clean, safe, renewable energy at a price the world can afford.

Launch 2008, the space elevator, the future of our children’s children

IBM, Software Quality, Inherent Quality, Microsoft, Fun

Launch 2008 (February 27, 2008) ideally goes well and in some way further unifies IT so increasingly it becomes easier for IT to work together on high purposes.

In time who knows what can be enabled for the children of the future. Perhaps all children of the future will be as intelligent as today’s rocket scientists, thanks to an amplified intelligence largely enabled by software, technology and information and related advances of applied imagination and innovation. Perhaps like rockets the children of the future will burst forth new innovations at incredible speeds. Perhaps in the process the children of the future will further show that rockets are inefficient, and that there are less expensive, faster, safer and better ways than what is known in or by the current generation. In a future generation perhaps adults and children will travel out of this world using a space elevator. Perhaps for fun the value-inherent fascinating content of video research libraries will beam knowledge and skills quickly within all people like a movie. Perhaps readers of VIIP will browse the one noted below, perhaps learning about the space elevator and our future, or about various works by PhD students, or about “The promise, the limits, and the beauty of software” by Grady Booch, Scientist, IBM.

Microsoft Research

In 1991, Microsoft Corp. became the first software company to create its own computer science research organization. Microsoft Research (MSR) has developed into a unique entity among corporate research labs, balancing an open academic model with an effective process for transferring its research to product development teams. Microsoft recognizes that to create the foundation for future technology breakthroughs, it is necessary to support long-term computer science research that is not bound by product cycles. Today, the world-renowned scientists of Microsoft Research make up one of the largest, fastest-growing and most highly respected software research organizations in the world — one that will help define and redefine the computing experience for millions of people for decades to come.

Come forth hopeful romantic, whatever your favorite movies (e.g., Sleepless in Seattle, You’ve Got Mail, Deja Vu, The Last Mimzy, The Fountain, An Inconvenient Truth, The Passion, The Peaceful Warrior, What the bleep do we know, The Pursuit of Happyness, It’s A Wonderful Life, The Polar Express, etc.).

Enable a unified IT. Help to make the IT world and the world in general, one. Make great gains towards high purposes before, by and beyond the perfect vision leap year of 2020. Each person can contribute positive energy. And there are powerful people in powerful organizations that can really start increasingly coming together to bring about powerful change. Ideally you do, and greater balance emerges and increasingly enables true universal fellowship.

A commitment to world peace and global cooperation

Posted by: viip
Software Quality, Inherent Quality, Alliance

Below are a few of the powerful words within Al Gore’s Nobel Prize acceptance speech (full version here). Now is the time to grow a real and sustainable commitment to world peace and global cooperation.

I have a purpose here today. It is a purpose I have tried to serve for many years. I have prayed that God would show me a way to accomplish it.

Mahatma Gandhi awakened the largest democracy on earth and forged a shared resolve with what he called “Satyagraha” – or “truth force.”

Truth also has the power to unite us and bridge the distance between “me” and “we,” creating the basis for common effort and shared responsibility.

There is an African proverb that says, “If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” We need to go far, quickly.

We must abandon the conceit that individual, isolated, private actions are the answer. They can and do help. But they will not take us far enough without collective action.

That means adopting principles, values, laws, and treaties that release creativity and initiative at every level of society in multifold responses originating concurrently and spontaneously.

This new consciousness requires expanding the possibilities inherent in all humanity.

We must ensure that entrepreneurs and inventors everywhere on the globe have the chance to change the world.  When we unite for a moral purpose that is manifestly good and true, the spiritual energy unleashed can transform us. We must understand the connections between the climate crisis and the afflictions of poverty, hunger, HIV-Aids and other pandemics. As these problems are linked, so too must be their solutions. We must begin by making the common rescue of the global environment the central organizing principle of the world community.

The world needs an alliance

These are the last few years of decision, but they can be the first years of a bright and hopeful future if we do what we must. No one should believe a solution will be found without effort, without cost, without change. Let us acknowledge that if we wish to redeem squandered time and speak again with moral authority, then these are the hard truths:

The way ahead is difficult. The outer boundary of what we currently believe is feasible is still far short of what we actually must do. Moreover, between here and there, across the unknown, falls the shadow.

“Pathwalker, there is no path. You must make the path as you walk.”

We are standing at the most fateful fork in that path. So I want to end as I began, with a vision of two futures – each a palpable possibility – and with a prayer that we will see with vivid clarity the necessity of choosing between those two futures, and the urgency of making the right choice now.

The future is knocking at our door right now. Make no mistake, the next generation will ask us one of two questions. Either they will ask: “What were you thinking; why didn’t you act?”

Or they will ask instead: “How did you find the moral courage to rise and successfully resolve a crisis that so many said was impossible to solve?”

We have everything we need to get started, save perhaps political will, but political will is a renewable resource.

So let us renew it, and say together: “We have a purpose. We are many. For this purpose we will rise, and we will act.”

Time for IT to rise

Posted by: viip
Software Quality, Inherent Quality

Al Gore once said that doing the right thing moves us forward and that technology is a force of nature. Before the positive growing movement that exists today, before his prize, before his 7.7.7 SOS, before you could rent his documentary, before you could watch it in theaters, before thousands pledged to attend, an Inconvenient Truth was shared on InherentQuality.Com. Perhaps a few of the thousands of initial visitors noticed and the site in some way was a bit of help. Perhaps a few of the readers of VIIP will notice this and take a further small positive step forward: IT has the responsibility and opportunity to be a tremendous unified force for good by 2020. It is time for IT to rise and secure a better future for IT; a future that is for the benefit of all. Thank you for all you do.

By 2020, IT must increasingly help enable the way of truth and love

Posted by: viip
Software Quality, Inherent Quality, Government

IT must be a significant enabler to a future history that must increasingly be one in which all win, where overhead, control models, and economics of past centuries no longer apply or make attractive the placement of centers in lowest-cost regions. Inequity, race, and other isms must increasingly become non-existent, and entire worlds largely must be increasingly enabled to enjoy quality of life improvements as a result of embedding social responsibility and a common mindset and feeling that we are all alike, as we are all on the same world team and as all are able to contribute value. IT, a global profession, a global community of pros and public, ethics, creating an innovative culture (and trying to help people move forward on an innovative basis), the future of the Internet (where increasingly everyone is interconnected by software, technology and information); these things and more, must increasingly be more than for entertainment purposes only. Such things and more must be about such things as: sparking dreams, imagination, hope, ideas, inner joy, career joy, innovation, and better realities including significant reductions to the cost of errors and corruption to the global society, and significant increases in oneness throughout the world. Why is this you ask? The answer is in order to continually elevate the merging of talents and more, to more so bring IT Pros and the general public increasingly together, to enable continually smarter government and a world increasingly based on wisdom and love and the pursuit of joy and high purposes heroically and humbly, in order to do such things as: help towards climate change, increase transparency, increase proactive risk management, increase protection against disasters (natural, man made and terrorist), and increase the pure potentiality of IT increasingly becoming a significant contributor to such things as the elimination of poverty, and in its place the enablement of vast improvements to education, health, wellness and quality of life for all.

When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love has always won. There have been tyrants and murderers and for a time they seem invincible but in the end, they always fall - think of it, always. — Mahatma Gandhi (QuoteDB)
