I initially tried a couple aliases I use across the web, with Google I usually make up 50% of the returned hits. On Cuil I get nothing back. No problem, maybe a little too specific. So in a effort to give Cuil a easy target I searched for "Java String", Java being one of the most proliferated and wrote about languages on the net and String as being one of the most basic foundations of that language. The results text-wise were fine for the most part, however if I had a boss peering over my should he probably would have said Cuil was NSFW. The pictures displayed next to Java String Analyzer was of a beautiful lady in a lace bra, further down the screen we get some sexy panties. Yes, I did have safe search turned on. This said, and with the other searches I tried I can safely say I won't be bothering with Cuil until they get things figured out.

I really like the idea, but similar to other reviews has quite a bit to go yet.

Still I wish them well - only 10 years or so since google was the new kid on the block and only used by techno geeks.

I searched for three small sites I am involved with and all show on Google searches on the top page

I dint find one of them on the top thirteen pages of any search

No good for me at the moment

perhaps too early to find smaller specialist sites

Don't use this yet - the virus folk are attacking cuil - the first link I tried brought up Power Anti Virus 2009 messages all over my machine - I wait to see if this causes damage, despite being vigilant and declining the offer to install such infectious items, my colleague suffered dramtically with probably the same virus going round call Antivirus 2008

when I searched on my name in quotes on cuil - 4 entries were found, of which two were actually me, on altavista many more entries were found, not sure I see how cuil is better - Cuil missed linkedin, spoke, plaxo, UNF council and others. Cuil has a ways to go... when searching on google - 8 entries were loaded on the first page. I rarely go beyond the first page so i doubt Cuil will be my first choice.
