Linksys – Not for Everyone

Hi all, the SMB router has gotten better over the years. It only makes sense since technology keeps chugging along at a nice pace. But they are limited. There are still many many things that you can’t do with them. I was recently involved with a client that tried to use a home based Cisco branded Linksys to do multiple subnets across a single tunnel configuration. Needless to say that the commands and methods that were available inside of the home based router just didn’t cut it.

The client got an “A” for effort but they just weren’t meant for that sort of setup. It only makes sense that you are going to pay for higher end features. Especially when your business requires them. That is the way that the firewall makers get their R&D money back.
