AppleTV

Joshua Wood Joshua Wood Profile: Joshua Wood

Hi all, recently I purchased an AppleTV. The purchase was for a device that would be a central point for all of my media that would cover the shortcomings of the PS3 and Xbox360, that I already have. While there are software elements that I could use in order to cover the these areas it was nice to have one device that could seamlessly tie together my podcasts, music, video, pictures, Netflix account and radio stations on a device that does HD video better than my Xbox or PS3.

The AppleTV does have a few areas that I don’t particularly appreciate. For example, it doesn’t play AVI files. That is very annoying but not a deal breaker. Also, you have to tie it to your home computer which has be to be turned on in order to access your iTunes library. While none of these are deal breakers they are pretty annoying. Annoyances aside, for anyone thinking of purchasing an AppleTV it is a great buy.

Until next time,
