We (meaning me and my wife) have looked at moving to Australia many times and while we have the things the gov't of Australia are looking for and would qualify I could not seem to find anything like I had in the US in the System i community. While the System i and Lotus are very popular down under they still don't pay very well. I can sympathize with your problems and congratulate you on working your way up. The school of hard knocks is always the hardest road but i the end you earned it and no one can take that away from you. Maybe some day we will get down there. Its the same where I'm from in Australia (Western) and salaries have peaked around the $55-70KAU mark. Although in Australia if you admin for mining companies you can push this to $75-100AU but you will have to rotate on site. I made a move a while back to try management, its been a long task but I have managed to get somewhere, Ive pushed my earnings up to around the $140K mark but its taken a great deal of hard work and i work away from home, yes mining. Im not sure what the answer is, but keep looking and working hard and the results will come. I agree very much.
