How do you retain your young talent?

I just found an article that was interesting and I am starting to hear stories from people I know around the industry that are saying the same things. It’s the younger generation “sense of entitlement” I think that is making them what I would call, unmotivated to work hard and unable to realize that the 30 - 50 somethings have been at this for almost as long as they have been alive. They don’t get any large perks unless they are superstars, and while I knew I was not super star when I started IT I secretly wanted all those things, like an office and high pay but knew the only way to get them was through hard work, not whining.

I am interested in your experiences with it and your comments?
