Storage is exploding and the landscape is changing. When 60% of the external storage market is owned by 4 players (IBM, HDS, EMC, HP) these incumbents can impose a lot of pressure for the status quo, they have much to loose if choice really happens.

I don’t think the Brand Parade will end anytime soon. It’s the nature of the business. I recommend you find a good solution provider to act as your expert.
The solutions may always be changing, but a good solutions provider can be your long-term constant, and do the never-ending legwork to stay on top of these issues. They also can help with the migration/obsolescence issues over time, as they’ll know your business well.
