Hi Calvin,

Thanks for the note. I fixed the reference to Hitachi Japan. Also added Around the Storage Block to our blogroll.

Hi Dave,

A minor correction - HP does not source the StorageWorks XP Disk Array from HDS. HP has an engineering relationship with Hitachi Japan. There is joint engineering between HP and Hitachi Japan.

HP doesn't source anything from HDS.

As you pointed out, EMC won't participate in industry standard testing but is more than happy to make up their own analysis of competitors' capacity utilization. In the end, Chuck Hollis admitted that his analysis of the EVA was wrong but went on to give EVA customers "advice" on how to configure their EVA's.

Finally, would love if you add the HP storage blog to your blogroll list. Our blog is at www.hp.com/storage/blog (though I guess you know that already!)

Thanks,
Calvin Zito, HP StorageWorks
