The SoCal Code Camp website has been reset and is ready for the next Code Camp. This code camp will be the second camp camp that we are doing up in LA. This time it is November 21st and 22nd and is being hosted at USC’s campus again. (There’s a second site setup for the LA Code Camp specifically so be sure to check that site out as well.) SoCal Code Camp is coming up in a couple of weeks now on June 27th and 28th. I’m presenting 3 sessions solo, and I’m one of a few people doing an IT Pro Pannel to allow Developers to grill some IT Pros to see why we do things the way we do.
The Sessions are:
IT Pro Panel: Q&A for Developers
SQL Server Service Broker
SQL Service Broker Advanced Performance Tips and Tricks
Virtual SQL Servers Should I or Shouldn’t I?
I’ll be posting the slide decks and sample code shortly before Code Camp.

SoCal Code Camp
The SoCal Code Camp website has started accepting sessions for the next Code Camp in January. I’ve put a couple of sessions up there already.
I’ve got one on SQL Server Indexing for the Client Developer, and one on SQL Server Service Broker Advanced Performance Tips and Tricks.
I’m open to suggestions as to what the folks in the area who might be attending as to anything else SQL Server they night be interested in hearing about.
At the moment on Woody Pewitt and I are the only people who have sessions posted. I’m sure that will change shortly.

While the first two are both two part sessions, there is only one download for both halves as they run together.

San Diego SSUG
I’d like to say thanks to the San Diego SQL Server Users Group for inviting me to speak last night.
I had a great time speaking to the group, and just like last time the questions were all excellent.
The slide deck for last night session on Federated Databases is now available. I believe that it will also be made available on the San Diego SQL Server Users Group website.
For those that missed the session, it is one of the sessions which I’m giving at the SoCal Code Camp on October 25 and 26 at USC in Los Angeles. Based on the time the presentation took last night, I’ll be expanding it a bit to better fill the two hours I’ve allocated for it at the Code Camp. If you are going to attend the Code Camp, be sure to mark the interested check box after you register so that the Code Camp staff knows how large of a room to put all the session in.

I and many of the other presenters have begun entering our sessions for the next SoCal Code Camp on on October 25th and 26th at USC in Los Angeles, CA.
The Code Camp is the weekend before PDC, and right near where PDC will be held. So if you are coming to PDC this year, come a couple of days early and check out what is hoped to be the largest SoCal Code Camp ever.
I’ve got four sessions scheduled, all of which are tagged with “SQL Server“.
If you are planning on attending the Code Camp, be sure to mark the sessions you want to attend with the interest check box. That way the Code Camp staff knows how big of a room each session will need.
If you are interested in speaking at the Code Camp, feel free to enter more sessions. The more sessions we have, the more popular the event will be.
As the date gets closer additional sessions will be entered onto the site. Be sure to check back often.
I’ll do my best to get the slide decks and sample code posted before the Code Camp starts. Odds are I’ll get them posted on Saturday morning as I did last time. If you missed any of my sessions from prior Code Camps, let me know in the comments and I’ll see what I can do about adding those sessions to the new schedule. See you at the Code Camp.
