St. Bernard CEO says acquisition positions vendor for accelerated growth.

Web security provider St. Bernard Software said Wednesday that it acquired managed email security supplier Red Condor.

San Diego, Calif.-based St. Bernard targets small and midsize businesses with Web security appliances, software and hosted security offerings. Red Condor, founded in 2004 and based in Rohnert Park, Calif., provides hosted and hybrid email spam filtering products to small businesses and ISPs.

The deal is a natural extension of St. Bernard’s product portfolio and business strategy, company executives said. The integration of Red Condor’s “carrier-grade technology and platform” positions St. Bernard for accelerated growth, Lou Ryan, the company’s CEO and president, said in a press release.

With the acquisition, St. Bernard said it will gain more than 1,900 new customers along with Red Condor’s ISP and MSP partner network.
