I don't really know whether to be more excited by the sheer "coolness" of Google all or curl up into a fetal position as they become the next company (the next Microsoft) we all love to hate!?

All I know is that the innovation (incremental or otherwise) coming out of the Factory in San Jose is really intriguing and the geek in me can't wait to see what happens next whilst the security wonk is worried for all the reasons you state.
