Sreekanth Ravi Code Green CEO Sreekanth Ravi has been making the rounds of late, pitching his company’s appliance that is aimed at making data protection and compliance affordable to small businesses. He spoke with Senior News Writer Bill Brenner about the CI-750 content inspection appliance and his company’s strategy.

Ravi is not new to the SMB market. He and his brother Sudhakar co-founded SonicWall, where they sold firewalls to small businesses. Code Green has been selling an email appliance that plugs into a network switch and scans outgoing messages for potentially sensitive information, such as company trade secrets and Social Security numbers. Industry analysts have said they like the idea of plug-and-play appliances for the SMB market.  Still, it would be interesting to see a breakdown of the long term costs associated with them.
