SBS 2008 Test and some Thanksgiving day Ramblings

Roger Crawford Roger Crawford Profile: Roger Crawford

Well I passed my SBS 2008 configuring test which I guess that makes me a MCTS now which I should have passed after being involved with the SBS 2008 TAP but you never know about those tests as sometimes real life and those tests just don’t seem to follow the same path. It really makes you wonder is that well thought out. Also you would think they would do something for the IT guys that do the smaller business space. Right now you take those tests and they are all geared towards the Enterprise. Ok how many of us will ever work for a Enterprise type of company nothing against those that do but there is a heck of a lot more of us out here taking care of the Small to Medium Business. At least we know if you do email signatures that the letters are a earned title and not something you just come up with to put yourself in a classification of some type. See my first post and you will understand where I am coming from.

Had a meeting with a customer and my boss the other day and he was remarking boy you sure have taken off on this blogging. Yes I have and as I answered to him then I didn’t have anything to say till now. Which as I have stated if I help one person with some of the things I might encounter and fix then I am doing what I want to and felt I needed to pass on.

I just sold my wife a new server and I will be migrating her network from SBS 2003 with SQL and ISA to SBS 2008 this should be fun and of course no pressure here. Right. But this will be a good test as many of the sites I watch over we use ISA at which I will miss that is for sure but that is the way things have play out. For those that have SA then we will be fine but there are some that do not have it so Plan B here. But I will be posting on the migration and let you know how that goes. Well I hear food calling me.

Til Later just Roger
