Regenerating the MUI Certificates

Those of you who have renamed an ESX server will know one task is to get new certificates for the MUI. I use an internal certificate authority to request & issue mine – but I know lots of people don’t both with this. You might have seen unofficial from VMware script on the forum naughtily released by “Anders” which generates the mui.crt and mui.key files. Anyway, this week I discovered there is a way of doing this quickly, supported by vmware and does require any fancy knowledge.

The utility is called vmware-config-mui.pl - and is very easy to use. No need to document how to use it – it is that easy!
