Internet Week NYC

Hi!

I am in New York this week for the kick off of Internet Week. To start the festivities, HP will be announcing several new products at their press conference this morning. In fact it starts in about five minutes. Stay tuned for pictures of the event as well as coverage of HP and Microsoft’s press announcements this morning.

Busy week on PrinterComparison.com

This week we have so many exciting features and projects taking place on PrinterComparison.com, TechnologyGuide.com and all the sister sites! First, on TechnologyGuide.com we have a laser feature, “Laser Printers in Focus: A Guide to Selecting and Using the Best Model.” This feature will be running for several weeks with new articles weekly! HP has also added a great section on what they’ve been doing in the laser market, so check out our HP Printing Resource Center.

All of the sites this week published our annual spring buyer’s guide just in time for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and all those high school and college graduations!

We’ve also published our Top 10 list for researched printers in April 2010, find out now what everyone is talking about!

Not to mention we have two new reviews coming over the next week and half: the Dell 3335dn and the Samsung CLP-770dn. Both models are aimed at the SMB market but the Dell is a multifunction monochrome laser printer and the Samsung is a singled function color laser printer.

Hello all!

In between April showers and May flowers, our calendar recognizes a day of giving back to Mother Nature, aptly titled Earth Day. Read all about the good deeds printing manufacturers are doing to help Planet Earth this year on PrinterComparison.com!

We have a round up of recycling programs from Canon, Epson, HP, Lexmark and Xerox as well as information on the good works these companies are performing both in their local communities and across the world.

Want to “green” up your own life? Check out the 10 steps for a greener life found on cnn.com. I’ve heard most of them before and a few I actually already employ to save money (aka keeping an eye on the thermostat) but useful nonetheless.

What’s next on PrinterComparison.com? An article on generic ink and potential savings, a review of the HP Officejet 7000, and a first look at bunch of brand new printers from a variety of manufacturers so don’t miss out!

So today is my first blog post on Printing Press and unfortunately, I don’t have much new news to spread other than that tomorrow is Earth Day so expect some green knowledge to be handed down on PrinterComparison.com!

However, if you are bored, you should definitely check my review of the Lexmark X466de multifunction monochrome laser printer. It prints great but the most exciting part of reviewing it was playing with the 7-inch color touch screen. It was super responsive, customizable, and easy to navigate. It was nice because I hate to say it, but sometimes reviewing monochrome business laser printers can be slightly one-dimensional.
