Taking all these factors into account, our predicted average five-year cost per end user in 2010 will be as follows:
* Mainframes: $6,250
* Unix minis: $19,000
* PC servers: $24,000
Personal opinion is that moving off the mainframe right now is not a good financial move – may be necessary for other reasons, but financial is not one of them.
