Almost all major PC manufacturers will not replace a malfunctioning PC before having the end user go through extensive troubleshooting, sending the PC in for repairs and even sending an on-site tech to check the PC before deciding to send a replacement PC.
Simple calculation would reveal that the cost to the manufacturer to cover the cost of all the above steps would be close to $400-$500 and not to mention the productivity loss by the end user during the time his/her PC is being fixed.
PC manufactures must come up with more precise troubleshooting methods to decide in fewer steps if the system should be replaced, this will lead to substantial reduction in the cost associated with extended troubleshooting.
