Dear Abitfazed ;

You wrote “The challenge for me coming from a well established IT structure into a bare-bones environment is knowing what needs to be done but not having the resources to accomplish it fast enough to keep up with the company’s growth.” , this is what exactly happing with me, there is a great opportunity for growth, you almost can envision it, but not enough resources.

One good thing thought, is that in a small company, there is less bureaucracy and your ideas and plans have the chance to be implemented.

Thanks for your comment, keep them coming please

Interesting reading. I work for a small company myself and coming from a very large company it is quite an experience and adjustment. The good thing about working in a small company is that you have the opportunity to experience some of the things you are working through now and the knowledge you gain is invaluable. The challenge for me coming from a well established IT structure into a bare-bones environment is knowing what needs to be done but not having the resources to accomplish it fast enough to keep up with the company's growth. So I find your story very interesting and wanted to say I can relate to your experience very well.
