Hello David, Thanks a lot for your comments. It almost became a passion for me to see all these papers disappear (paper cups, plates, invoices, notes etc.) I use notepad almost daily it’s a great notes taking tool.
On my last work trip, I was in Saudi Arabia, and at the small company I worked with, I was shocked by the amount of waste generated using paper cups. So I made a suggestion that each employee get his own cup and the idea worked.
I think people really don’t realize how much waste they are generating till someone point to that.
Thanks again

Yusuf - Great Post. We are doing these things here and it has really impacted the departments spending. We now have glass cups and such for the break room, they purchased "real" plates for us to eat lunch on and that save money. No more paper plates and paper cups.

We have placed restrictions on who can have a FAX number and all of our fax in digital too. We are moving away from manual FAX orders and moving them to email.

The last thing I have been doing for years and got accused of being over the top is taking my laptop to meetings and using notepad.exe to take notes. I then go back to my desk and place them in a Journal in my Lotus Notes. Sometimes i place them right in the journal but I am a long time fan of Notepad too.

You get odd looks like you are trying to show off and your not I would just rather not have to use up a pad a week to get work done. I try not to use any paper during the day and you can look in my desk now the only paper is travel receipts.
