I am sure some of you read or heard about the fiber cable cutting incident that took place in San Jose and San Carlos, California, earlier this month. It was considered an act of vandalism; in an article I was reading about the incident in PC World online suggested treating such types of vandalism as an act of terrorism. I tend to agree with the writer, network cables are vital part of our cities infrastructures and the lives of millions of citizens could be affected by a temporary disruption on the services these cables provide.
These types of incidents must not be treated lightly, we still look at technology related crimes with sense of amusement to the technical ability of the culprits, in some countries, hackers are looked at as heroes.
Any act that causes harm to the masses must dealt with as a form for terrorism.
