New Xbox Contest Announcement

Now through the end of April, you can not only show off your IT skills by asking and answering questions on ITKnowledgeExchange.com, but you can earn the chance to spend some quality time honing your bad-guy-vaporizing skills on your very own Xbox 360.

From March 18th through April 30th, you have a chance to win one of three Xbox 360 consoles. The winners will be the top 3 community members who have the most Knowledge Points earned and have asked 5 IT-related questions (you still earn Knowledge points for asking questions) during the contest period. Visit the blog post for full details on the prizes and contest rules.

We’re on LinkedIn!

We’ve recently created an IT Knowledge Exchange LinkedIn group. If you are a member of LinkedIn, come and join the group. You can network with your fellow members and continue the discussion. Visit the group here.

Featured IT Blogger of the Week

This week’s featured blogger is Andy Dale of AboutSharePoint.com. Andy Dale is a Senior SharePoint Consultant at a Microsoft Partner company. His blog discusses many different aspects of SharePoint software, from the benefits of using it in different sectors, to the important points of upgrades. His writing style is clear, not full of jargon and techspeak, and his expertise is broad. For those of us who could use some brushing up on our SharePoint skills (and that’s likely most of us), Andy’s blog is a great resource. You can visit AboutSharepoint.com here.

IT Bookworm Free Book Chapter of the Week

Murach’s SQL Server 2008 for Developers

This book is designed to teach application developers all of the skills they need to use SQL to work with a Microsoft SQL Server 2008 database. But it’s also a great first book for developers who are on the path to becoming a DBA. Download a free chapter here.
