I have two partitions namely C: and D: When I try to access any drive from my computer, b double clicking on the drive, I'm unable to access but when I try to access the same form address bar, its working. Is it due to any virus attack? Kindly suggest me the solution. I have Symantec antivirus installed.

I had a similar problem that also included mapped drives. Files could be open on the various drives by using the “open” command in different applications, but trying to use explorer to get tot the drive or the folder would take a LONG time, or lock up the explorer window.

There are several “thing to try” in this answer:

My final solution may not be the same as yours, but this does offer quite a few places to look.

Good Luck!

Too little is know for me to hazard an answer. First, what O/S are you using? Second, when you created this drive, did you format it during O/S installation or did you format it afterwards? What format did you use? Is this drive formatted the same as your other drive? Is there anything on the drive (D)? The bottome line is if you have nothing on this drive, then re-format it and be sure that it is being formatted the same as your C is. If you're using NTFS on C and FAT 32 on D, this might be a reason although I am not 100% possitive if you would be able to see C even from the address bar if this was the case but maybe you can.

It certainly wouldn't hurt to scan your system with another anti-malware tool such as Malwarebytes or Microsoft Security Essentials.
