XP Pro-Forgot Admin Password, cannot access. Please Help!
I had HD crash so i installed new HD and reinstalled XP Pro but now it is asking for an adnim password, I did not install a password but mybey by mistake I hit some keys how can I reset my admin password when I cannot even get in to the program.

My favorite tool for this purpose is ntpasswd.

There are lots of Windows password reset tools around (never heard of ntpasswd - I’ll have to check it out…). If you have a copy of, or access to, or can burn a copy of UBCD4Win, there are tools it contains which will let you access the HDD installation without actually logging in….

(And for those out there who object to me posting this info as a security risk/hacker tool, it’s been mentioned in these forums several times and is readily available from a web search….)

I agree with you. I am a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) and these tools are used for regular administrative activities and not just malicious uses.
